Biographical history

Henri Paul Chatenay, 1941-2010, was born and educated in Red Deer, Alberta except for a two year term at a school in Lausanne, Switzerland. He received a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta and studied journalism at Carleton University in Ottawa. He also studied at the Alberta College of Art in Calgary and Vancouver School of Art. He taught school in various public schools in Alberta as well as at the Edmonton Art Gallery and Mount Royal College in Calgary.

He was interested in documenting the work of early western doctors and published two books, Echoes of Silence : The Chronicles of William Graham Mainprize, M.D., 1911-1974 / Henry Paul Chatenay. -- Edmonton : Alberta Handicapped Forum, 1978 and The Country Doctors / Henri Paul Chatenay. -- Red Deer : Matrix Press, 1980.
