Biographical history

Helen Browne Hislop, 1872-1958, was born in Sunnidale Township, Ontario and later moved to Winnipeg. She was friends with Nellie McClung. She married William Arnold Sturdy, 1878-1951, and they lived at various places in British Columbia until settling in Vancouver. They had 5 children, David Arnold, 1907- , Edith Helen (Beales), 1908- , Mary, 1910- , John Hislop, 1914-1997, and Islay, 1918- .
