  • File consists of research material for novel provided by Christie Harris's son Gerald Harris.
  • Tape 1 is labelled "birds - balance" (side 1) and "Gerald good philosophy" (side 2) and discusses various birds and other creatures on the coastal trail and the balance of nature including the predator/prey philosophy.
  • Tape 2 is labelled "Nature Side A" and "Whirlpool Side B" and contains "notes on the great whirlpool maker" as well as discussion of birds and sea life including otters and life in streams.
  • Tape 3 is dated Nov/85 and labelled "Sooke & Forest... . dipper - winter wren" and includes observations made at the government wharf at Sooke, B.C., regarding fishing and shore birds and descriptions of the forest dioramas at the Provincial Museum of British Columbia.
  • Tape 4 is labelled "Michael plane" and records Christie Harris's son Michael Harris discussing how aliens from outer space could cause an airplane to malfunction; the date is recorded as "December 28, 1985."
