History
James Logan Hannah, 1905-1989, was born in Troon, Scotland and emigrated with his parents at an early age to Elmvale, Ontario. He was employed by the Canadian Bank of Commerce in Elmvale and Belleville and several northern Ontario towns before joining Purity Bread in Toronto. In 1939 Hannah came to Calgary, Alberta as manager of Bryce Bread. In 1939 he launched Hannah Bread Ltd. and later developed other firms. He was a Shriner as well as a member of other organizations. He served in the Calgary Highlanders in the Second World War and on Calgary City Council from 1959 to 1961.
