James R.B. Hammill, 1890-1975, was born in Ancaster, Ontario and came to Calgary, Alberta in 1915. He established Hammill Motors and the company was very active in automobile racing in the Calgary area. He and his wife, Margaret McBean, ?-1955, had two children, Dorothy (Colburn) and James B. He later married Victoria and they had one daughter, Patricia (Avison).
