Harold A. Hamman grew up in Taber, Alberta, and after graduation as a physician worked in Coleman. In 1925 he moved to Fort Vermilion and operated a hospital for native peoples. In 1948 he contracted tuberculosis and moved to Calgary where he worked at the Baker Sanatorium, retiring in 1966.
