        History

        Haida Paul, January 20, 1937 - September 22, 2014, was a Canadian film and sound editor for dramatic and documentary films for 50 years, living in Vancouver, B.C. Paul is particularly known for My American Cousin (1985), Big Meat Eater (1982) and Terminal City Ricochet (1990). She also was the film editor of the 1970 documentary of Bachman Turner and Overdrive (BTO), directed by Peter Allies. A complete filmography was compiled by Canadian film maker Ileana Pietrobruno for a retrospective following Paul’s passing in 2014 which comprised nearly sixty films. Paul is a winner of the 1986 Genie Awards-Best Achievement in Film Editing, and in 2013 was awarded the Spotlight Lifetime Achievement Award from the Women In Film + Television Vancouver Society (WIFTV). Haida Paul, nee Clarke married Bardolf Paul. They had three children, Ranada, Michael and Ileana.
