Russel V. "Curly" Gunter, ca. 1898-?, pioneered with his parents and brothers near Hillandale, Saskatchewan. He later ranched at Ponteix. He and his wife, Lena, had a daughter, Jean. In 1931 Curly took part in a horse drive from Valmarie, Saskatchewan to Pouce Coupe, British Columbia.
