      History

      Joseph Charles Louis Guimond, 1900-1973, was born and raised in Montreal and served in the Royal 22nd Regiment during First World War. He joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and came to Fort Macleod, Alberta in 1920. He transferred to Lethbridge in 1922, served with the Alberta Provincial Police (APP) and then again with the RCMP until his retirement in 1955. In 1956 he joined the Provincial Welfare Department at Lethbridge and served until 1966. He and his wife, Annie, had four children.
