        History

        John Green, 1900-1971, was born in Cropwell, Butler, Nottinghamshire, England. He joined the Alberta Provincial Police (APP) in 1925. He became a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in 1932. He served at Belleville and Ottawa in Ontario; Regina, Saskatchewan; and Oyen, Canmore, Fort McMurray, Morley and Edmonton in Alberta. He served in the No. 1 Provost Company (RCMP) from 1939 to 1945, and retired from the force in 1948. He retired to Sidney, British Columbia.
