        History

        Alfred Goodwin, 1876-1955, was born in Cheapside, Ontario. In 1897 he moved to Manitoba before settling in Calgary, Alberta in 1900. Between 1904 and 1933 he worked in the house-moving business, and operated his own company. His son, George Herbert, 1906-1960, continued to run the moving business after Alfred retired. Alfred's wife, Amy Ida Jane Goodwin, ?-1950, was born in Perth Ontario and came to Calgary in 1904. Alfred collected native artifacts.
