Biographical history

Giovanni Mamini, ?-ca. 1911, was born in Italy and served in the Royal Italian Navy. He came to Calgary, Alberta and operated an Italian store and was an avid real estate speculator. He also was an agent of the Western Canada Insurance Company. He and his wife Laura had three children, Robert, 1906-1953, Daisy Augusta (Brawn) and ??. Robert was an editor at the Calgary Herald as was Gerald Brawn, 1905-1979, Daisy's husband.
