History
Walter Harry Gibson was born on March 19, 1918, in Montreal. Gibson enlisted with the Canadian Army at the start of World War Two, in September of 1939. He served with Les Fusiliers Mont Royal through to the end of the war. Together with his Regiment, Gibson took part in the Dieppe Raid where Gibson was wounded, also earning the Military Medal for attempts to save a drowning fellow soldier. After convalescing Gibson returned to Canada in August 1943 and served domestically until the end of the war. He died on February 28th, 2009.
