Biographical history
Georges William de Roaldes, 1874-1968, was born in France and came to Alberta in 1905. He homesteaded in the Millarville district to raise horses. He served overseas in the Canadian Mounted Rifles in First World War, attaining the rank of major. He returned to Alberta in 1919 to a farm near Innisfail where he continued with his horse breeding. In 1923 he moved to Santa Barbara, California, USA where he continued his equestrian activities. He and his wife had two children, Henry, 1901-1978, and Juliette (Kelly).
