Biographical history
George Lewis Stringam, 1876-1960, was born and educated in Utah, USA. In 1905 he married Sarah Lovina Williams, 1885-1981, also from Utah, and they had nine children, Owen, Alonzo, Briant, Woodrow, Elwood, Bryce Coleman, 1920-2000, Mark, Emily and Mary (Russell). He sat in the Utah State Legislature, 1906-1910, then the family moved to Glenwood, Alberta where they ranched. George sat as a United Farmers of Alberta (UFA) member in the Alberta Legislature, 1921-1935. In 1937 the family ranch was taken over by Owen and Alonzo, and George ran a ranch on the Milk River, from his new home in Lethbridge, Alberta. He retired in 1949. He was active in the Mormon Church.
