Biographical history
George Edwin Jacques, ?-1926, was born in Port Elgin, Ontario, the son of Reverend George Jacques. He came to Calgary, Alberta in 1880 and established a jewellry store. In 1879 he married Mary, 1855-1940, and they had three children, George L., ?-1937, Harry, and Winnifred (Reiman). George L. Jacques and his wife, Vera Ireland, 1898-1999, established funeral homes in Vulcan, Red Deer and Calgary.
