Biographical history

Garnet D. Ellis, from Ontario, fought in France during First World War. In 1918 he moved to Alberta and worked with a survey crew. In 1919 he became an inspector of homesteads for the Soldier Settlement Board and travelled throughout the Edmonton area. He returned to Ontario in 1920 where he acquired his own farm through the Soldier Settlement Board.
