Rodger Galvin of Palmer Rapids, Ontario came to Alberta in 1904 to work for Massey Harris. He worked for the farm machine company in Calgary, Lethbridge and Medicine Hat. His sister, Fannie, was living in Calgary in 1908. He also had a brother, Thomas, and another sister, Gertrude.
