Biographical history
Gervase Edward Gale, 1872-1950, was born in Cornwall, England and came to Canada in 1894. He taught at Emmanuel College in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and then attended St. John's College in Winnipeg. He graduated in 1901 and was ordained as an Anglican clergyman. Gale also married Hattie Mae Van Buskirk in 1901. He served parishes at DeWinton and Midnapore before going to the Blood Reserve. In 1910 he returned to St. John the Evangelist in Calgary. Gale moved to England in 1935. He and Hattie retired to the Vancouver area in 1947.
