Biographical history
William Randall "Frosty" Martin, 1873-1955, was born in Butler County, Pennsylvania, USA and in 1887 his family moved to Findlay, Ohio. He started in the oil well drilling business in 1889 and travelled extensively in North American fields. He moved north to Canada about 1908 and drilled near Medicine Hat, Alberta and in Turner Valley, Alberta. About 1920 he moved to the USA and ca. 1926 began building precision instruments with a firm called Martin-Decker Corporation in Long Beach, California. he married Maud Jamison and they had one son, John W., 1911- .
