History
Issac Sanford Freeze, 1847-1936, was born in Penobsquis, New Brunswick. He came to Calgary, Alberta in 1883 and opened a grocery store. In 1884 he became alderman for the first council in the town of Calgary. He ran his business until he retired and passed it on to his son, Stanley. He was married to Evelyn A. Lewis and they had six children, D. Herbert, Winnie, Edna A., 1880-1884, Stanley G. 1885-1971, Edith and Ernest C., 1888-1925. Ernest and his wife, Annie, ?-1981, had one child, Audrey Gertrude (Pettigrew), 1915-1996.
