Biographical history

Frank Manolson, 1925-1978, was born in Calgary, Alberta, the son of a local cattle buyer, Morris Manolson. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Ontario Veterinary College, Guelph, Ontario, in 1948. He undertook futher studies in 1952 at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. In 1953-1954 he was the veterinary officer with the British Colonial Service in Belize, British Honduras.

Manolson published several popular books on dogs and cats including D is for Dog (1964), C is for Cat (1968), My Cat's in Love (1971), Language of Your Cat (1977), Living with Your Cat (1978) and Fraser's Horse Book (1979). He married Zahava (Goldie) Hanan, 1928-2015, of Calgary but they eventually separated. Manolson died in Oxford, England.
