Kathleen Joyce Foreman was born June 6th 1958. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts (Drama) from the University of Calgary in 1981 and her Teacher Certification in 1986. Foreman completed her graduate degree at the University of Victoria between 1986-1988.
Foreman was a professor in the Department of Drama for 25 years, specializing in actor training, improvisation, mask creation and theatre for young audiences. She was involved with the Canada-Asia Partnership and the Philippines Educational Theatre Association in the early 90s developing a course using theater techniques for community development. Foreman was a founding member of Loose Moose Theatre and masQuirx, a supporter and producer of Wagon Stage Children’s Theatre, and also active with the Calgary Internatonal Chidren’s Festival.
Foreman was recognized for both her teaching and service with a Student Union Teaching Excellence Award (2000), a nomination for the UofC Women’s Resource Centre Wisdom, Resilience and Compassion Award (2007) and the Duval Lang Theatre for Young Audiences Award (2012).
Foreman died in Calgary September 2nd 2013.
