History
Frances Sills Flint, 1889-1969, was born in Ontario. She came to the Beaverlodge area of Alberta in 1911 to visit her sister, but returned to Ontario in 1913. In 1915 she married Victor Flint of Beaverlodge and returned to Alberta. The Flints had three daughters. They raised Holstein cows on their farm. Frances was very active in the local United Church and women's organizations. She was a founding member of the Beaverlodge Women's Institute (later called Huallen WI) in 1924 and of the Beaverlodge United Farm Women of Alberta in 1944. She served as president of the UFWA local, 1946-1951. During the 1950s the Flints spent summers at Beaverlodge and winters in California. In 1967 they moved into a seniors' lodge in Grande Prairie.
