        William Patrick "Bill" Fleming, 1919-1995, was born in Calgary, the son of William and Catherine Fleming. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War and served at various locations in western Canada. After the war Fleming worked for meat packing and cheese companies in various places. For a time he was curator of the Fort Macleod Museum, before joining the Glenbow Foundation as a Director. On retirement in 1972 he and his wife Carrie settled on a farm west of Carstairs.
