Scope and content
Subseries consists of records that reflect the administration and business, bidding, design and construction, and post-construction activities related to architectural projects and large scale planning projects. Records include annotated shop drawings, contemplated change notices and change orders, drawings and sketches, transmittal sheets, correspondence with clients and contractors, notes from meetings, progress timelines, site plans, photographs, specifications, and manuals. The subseries is arranged according to project numbers, which are primarily in chronological order. Copies or partial copies of the firm’s two project filing formats/indices were located during processing (ca. early 1990s and one effective December 1997). Where possible, these formats have been followed to arrange the records within each project. The earlier projects have been organized according to a typical workflow of architectural firms (pre-tender, bid, contract, permits, specifications, through to construction, liaison with contractors, reports, inspections, manuals, and post-construction activities).
