Biographical history
Ernest Henry Harris, 1896-1983, was born in Southampton, Ontario. He came to Calgary, Alberta in 1911-1912 and began employment with the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR). He served overseas with the 13th Battalion in First World War. On his discharge he resumed employment with the CPR as a switchman in Alyth yards, retiring as yard foreman in 1961. He then spent five years as a locomotive conductor at Heritage Park. He married twice: to Eleanor, ?-1972, with whom he had one son, Ray, and then to Neta.
