Biographical history

Edward F.T. Brokovski, 1838-1916, was born in London, England and came to Canada in 1857. He taught school in Toronto for a few years and then became a surveyor. In 1871 he led a survey party to Red River, Manitoba and remained there until 1877, publishing a newspaper, 1872-1874, and working in real estate. In 1877 he returned to Toronto as a publicity agent for the Province of Manitoba where he remained until moving to Winnipeg in 1881. He became a land guide at Moosomin, Saskatchewan in 1883 and was promoted to Dominion Land Agent at Battleford in 1887. After 1897 he was involved in real estate at Battleford. He married Elizabeth Craig, ?-1868, in 1863 and they had one son, John Craig. Edward married Helen Scott, 1847-1938, in 1876 and they had two sons and a daughter.
