History
Melva Montgomery, 1924- , grew up in Medicine Hat, Alberta. She married Allan Downey, who was in armed service during the Second World War. Allan died after the birth of their daughter, Andrea. Melva lived in Calgary by 1971 and began working as a secretary for the Glenbow ca. 1978. She retired in 1990. She was active in the Parkdale United Church Brownie Pack from 1968 to 1974.
