History
Frederick Albert Dowler, 1882-1963, was born in Quebec, and moved to a homestead near Wetaskiwin, Alberta with his parents in 1899. In 1900 he moved to Calgary where he worked as a Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) telegrapher and in the grain brokerage business. He and his wife, Ouida Morrison Dowler, ?-1963, had three children, Molly (Pomeroy), Russell and William. In 1941 the Dowlers moved to Red Deer, where Fred was an agent for a real estate and insurance firm and a lumber dealer. In 1959 they retired to Calgary. The Dowlers were devoted members of Calgary's Knox United Church and Gaetz Memorial United Church in Red Deer.
