        Jack De Lorme, 1930- , was born in Victoria, British Columbia and raised in Calgary, Alberta. He apprenticed as a photographer with Joe Rosettis and later worked for the Calgary Albertan (1953-1957) and the Calgary Herald (1949-1953, 1957-1961). In 1962 he opened his own studio and specialized primarily in industrial photography. At the same time he did a great deal of work for the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede. In 1975 he became a photographer with Shell Canada. De Lorme won numerous National Newspaper and other awards during his career. He retired in 1990. He and his wife, Beryl, had three children.
