Biographical history
David John Cumming, 1859-1935, was born in Coburg, Ontario and joined the North-West Mounted Police (NWMP) in 1890 at Regina, Saskatchewan. He served nine years and was discharged in 1899. He re-engaged in 1901 and was promoted to corporal in 1919. He retired in 1922. He was stationed at Fort Macleod, Alberta during his second period of service and resided there after retirement. He was married.
