        History

        Frederick Dally, 1838-1914, was born in Northamptonshire, England, and emigrated to British Columbia in 1862. He opened a photographer's studio in Victoria at Fort and Government streets, and in 1867 went to the Cariboo and took photos of the area. He opened a second studio in Barkerville but eventually sold his business to the Green Brothers in 1870. He went to the Philadelphia College of Dentistry in 1870 and graduated in 1872.
