Biographical history
Cyril Eugene Challice was the Head of the Department of Physics for 14 years at the University of Calgary (1957-1971). He continued as a member of the Faculty until his retirement in 1992. He was a biophysicist who worked with Sir Alexander Fleming at St. Mary's Hospital in London, England before coming to Calgary in 1957. Dr.Challice was one of the first Killam Resident Fellowship recipients in January, 1978 and has received many awards for his work in cardio-vascular research.

Fonds consists of photographs of the first sod turning at the new University of Alberta, Calgary campus, the opening of the Administration Building including images of the Press covering the event and the Library tea party, and images of the quad in the Arts & Education building (later Administration Building) with fountain, and constructing the steps up to the Administration Building.
