        Robert Couban, ?-2002, was born in Manchester, England and immigrated to Canada in the late 1940s. He was a student at the Guelph Agricultural College for some years and moved to Alberta in 1957 to work as a ranchhand on the A7 Ranche west of Nanton. After two years he joined the United States Marines and was posted in many places around the world. He retired to Ontario. He and his wife had at least one child, Bridget.
