History
Carl C. Cook, [ca. 1883]-1978, was born in Ontario and came to western Canada in 1908, farming for ten years near Taber, Alberta. He was chairman of the Taber Irrigation District for three years. He entered the coal business in 1910 at Taber and for 25 years managed various southern Alberta mines, including the Atlas mine at Drumheller. In 1945 he was appointed chairman of the Workmen's Compensation Board. In the 1950s he worked for Alberta Southern Coal in Taber. He and his first wife had three children, two sons and a daughter. He later remarried.
