        History

        James Colpitts, 1881-1941, and his brothers, Sam and Fred, were born near Moncton, New Brunswick. They purchased R.C. Upper's percheron ranch near Calgary, Alberta in 1920 and in 1921 established a fox ranch with their cousin, Bill. During the 1930s James also established a dairy, named Model Dairies. The dairy was sold to Palm Dairies in 1965. James and his wife had one son Stewart S. Colpitts, 1920-2002.
