Biographical history
Christopher Hilliard, 1863-1939, was born at Derrybean, Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Ireland. He came to Canada in 1881 and joined the North-West Mounted Police (NWMP) in 1882. He served at Cardston, Fort Macleod, and Stand Off, Alberta, and Battleford and Onion Lake, Saskatchewan. He retired in 1904 and farmed north of Stand Off. He and his wife, Corinne Adele, ca. 1879-1968, had seven children, Mary (Beattie), Eileen (Shield), ?-1994, Robert, Stanley, Roderick, Kenneth and Margrete (Roberts).
