Note
The CHEER Committee was formed in 1966 to research the need for a Faculty of Home Economics at the University of Calgary and to prepare a brief. In 1967 the CHEER Committee was asked to send a representative to the newly-formed Family Life Committee of the Social Planning Council, a group also interested in programs at the University. In 1968 these groups prepared a joint brief which was presented to the University in 1970.
