Biographical history
Charles Stirling Lee was born in London, England and in 1932 graduated in petroleum technology from London University. He worked in the petroleum industry in Venezuela and Trinidad before coming to Calgary, Alberta where he became president and chairman of Western Decalta Petroleum, 1952-1977. He helped found and was president of the Independent Petroleum Association of Canada and served as vice-president of the Canadian Petroleum Association. He was active in a number of other Calgary organizations.
Lee wrote two books: Land to Energy, 1882-1982/ Charles S. Lee, editor. -- Calgary: Canada Northwest Energy, 1983 and his memoirs From Bush to Boardroom/ Charles S. Lee. -- Calgary: Cal-Oka Printing, 1981. He and his wife, Margery, had four daughters.
