This notebook was maintained by an unidentified cattle buyer, broker, or possibly government brand inspector, who was involved in the sale and shipment of cattle in southern Alberta and southern Saskatchewan. He dealt with numerous ranchers and ranch companies, including George Lane, P. Burns, A.J. McLean, D.M. McKerracher, R. Cruikshanks, D.P. McDonald, New Walrond Ranche, and Cochrane Ranche. Cattle shipments were from a variety of locations, including Waldeck and Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, and Dunmore Junction, Strathmore, Claresholm, Lethbridge and Cochrane, Alberta.
