Biographical history
In the 1970s Glenbow was asked to undertake a research project on the history of Canmore Mines. Doug Cass was delegated to work on the project and amassed the material in this collection, which includes references to Canmore Mines and Anthracite in newspapers, magazines, archival documents, publications, etc. The research phase of the project was only partially completed.

The collection consists of research notes on the history of Canmore Mines and the coal mine at Anthracite. Also contains various research materials including corporate and government documents, secondary source articles, newspaper/journal clippings, as well as photographs and maps of the Canmore/Anthracite area, ca. 1880s.
