History
The Calgary Fish and Game Association was established in Calgary, Alberta in 1908. Its current objectives are: to promote the conservation of fish, wildlife and natural resources; to promote the non-commercial harvest of fish and game as a part of wildlife management; to assist in educating people to enjoy the values of wildlife and natural resources and to conserve them for future generations; to insist on continued public ownership of public lands and wildlife; to obtain and maintain access to public lands; to promote outdoor ethics and safety and teach and practice the safe use and care of firemarms; and to promote the cause of fish and game and wildlife propagation, conservation and to encourage the study, gathering and publishing of information on these subjects. The Association publishes a newsletter called Our Vanishing Heritage.
