History
Matthew Barney Wolthuis, 1895-1954, was born in Holland and came to Alberta in 1927. He farmed briefly but in 1931 established Calgary Cycle. His son, Barney, 1926-2015, joined his father in 1942 then served in the Second World War. From 1947 to 1954 he ran his father's store in Lethbridge. The business was conducted in Calgary in a downtown store until 1962 when it moved to Centre Street N. Barney Wolthuis sold the business in 1985.
