        History

        The Calgary 88’s was a professional men’s basketball team based in Calgary, Alberta. It was a franchise of the World Basketball League, originally called the International Basketball Association. The league was restricted to players less than 6 feet 5 inches in height and its playing season was during the summer. The team and the league started in 1988 and folded during the 1992 season. Although the team never won the league championship, it led the league in games won for all seasons but one.
