History
Harvey J. Buckley, 1932-2016, was born in Alberta and grew up on his family ranch west of Calgary. He studied agriculture at Olds College, graduating in 1952. Buckley operated his own ranch, the Quarter Circle X, and was also active in many ranching and agricultural organizations including the Alberta Agricultural Products Marketing Board, the Alberta Cattle Commission and Action for Agriculture. He received the Alberta Achievement Award of Excellence in Agriculture in 1986, and was inducted into the Alberta Agriculture Hall of Fame in 1997. He and his wife Margaret had three children.
