Fonds F0311 - Bryce Hamilton Bunny fonds

Bryce [Brice, Bruce] Hamilton Bunny, 1880-1964, was born in England and moved to Guelph, Ontario in 1890. The following year he settled in Alberta on the Frank Meade ranch in the Porcupine Hills. He worked on other ranches as well before joining Strathcona's Horse during the South African War. After his discharge in 1903 he purchased the Charles Bray ranch in Crawling Valley near Dorothy, Alberta. His ranch specialized in Percheron horses. He and his wife, Veronica Southcomb, 1900-1984, had one daughter, Isobel (Carter). The Bunnys remained on the ranch until it was destroyed by a prairie fire in 1928. They retired to British Columbia.
