        George Bruchet, 1884-1976, was born in Nova Scotia. While he was still an infant his family moved to Lethbridge, Alberta where he was educated. He married Edna McDougall, [?-after 1966], in 1906 and they had eleven children. He joined the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR), was transferred to Cranbrook, British Columbia and then returned to Lethbridge. He moved to Fort Macleod, Alberta where he established a painting and interior decorating business which his sons took over in 1941. He was an avid collector of historical photographs and antiques, and his artifact collection was purchased by the Glenbow Museum. He was an active member of the Old Timers' Pemmican Club, and the Southern Alberta Pioneers' and Old Timers' Association.
