        History

        Frederick Archibald Brewster, 1884-1969, was born in Kildonan, Manitoba and came to Alberta in 1888. In 1911 he moved to Jasper where he worked as an outfitter and trail guide for scientific expeditions in the Canadian Rockies. He retired in 1962. He was a member of many local community organizations, and in 1923 was involved with the establishment of the Jasper Masonic Lodge. During First World War he served overseas and obtained the rank of major.
