Biographical history

Archibald Henry Borrett, 1873-1974, was born in England, came to Canada in 1893, and bought a farm at McLennan, Ontario in 1895. In 1899 he married Louisa Hartley, 1881-1964. They had four children, Winnifred, 1900-?, Alexander, 1902-?, Mabel (Gillies), 1908-?, and Fred, 1912-?. In 1904 the Borrett family moved to Alberta where they ranched in the Summerview district near Pincher Creek. They owned land at NE-33-7-29-W4. In 1907 the family moved into Pincher Creek, and Archie worked first in the town office and later handled coal. In 1924 the Borretts moved back to Ontario, to the Rainy River district near Emo.
